Privacy policy

Draft for legal review. This document has been prepared from the game's published rules and will be replaced by a version reviewed by our Australian lawyers before the first prize week.

This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

1. What we collect

  • Account: your wallet address (your sign-in and payout address), the username you choose, and a signed session cookie. We don’t collect an email or a password, because there aren’t any.
  • Play: the slips and race tickets you place, your results, points, streaks and badges. Guests’ play stays in their own browser and never reaches us.
  • Prizes: the wallet address you link, and, for prize claims, your phone number and identity-check result from our verification provider. We do not store identity documents ourselves.
  • Technical: IP address, browser and device information, and basic analytics about how the site is used, to keep the game fair and one-account-per-person.

2. Why we use it

  • To run the game: the Drop, settling slips from final scores, leaderboards, and deciding and paying prizes.
  • To keep it fair: detecting multiple accounts, bots and collusion.
  • To meet legal duties: prize records, age and identity checks, and tax records for payouts.
  • To tell you things you asked for: notifications you turn on (the Drop, your slips, the week decided). You can turn them off in your browser at any time.

3. Who sees it

  • Public: your username, results, points and badges appear on leaderboards, profiles and share cards. Your wallet address is public on-chain by nature, and prize payments to it are published; we never publish a phone number or identity document.
  • Providers who process data for us: Supabase (accounts and database, hosted in Sydney), Vercel (hosting), our identity-verification provider (for prize claims only), and, when configured, an email provider for prize notices. Sports fixtures and results come from ESPN; prices from The Odds API and its bookmakers — we send them no personal data.
  • Prize payments are recorded on the Solana blockchain, which is public: the wallet address and amount are visible to anyone.
  • We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it with advertisers.

4. Overseas

  • Some providers store data outside Australia (for example, hosting in the United States). We only use providers with appropriate safeguards.

5. Retention

  • Account and play data is kept while your account is open and for 7 years after a prize is paid (tax and promotion records). Guest play is never sent to us.

6. Your choices and rights

  • You can see and correct your details on your account page, and you can ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, or for it to be deleted, from your account page (Download my data and Delete my account), or by emailing support@house-money.fun from the wallet’s signed message. We respond within 7 days; prize records we must keep by law are retained.
  • Notifications and the wallet link are optional and can be removed at any time.
  • If you have a complaint, contact us first; if you’re not satisfied you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

7. Cookies

  • We use a sign-in cookie and a small amount of local storage for your guest chips, preferences and the sound setting. We don’t use advertising cookies.
